Dokan Kits Vendor Product Variations

How to activate and use it

This guide explains two things:

  1. How to activate your license.
  2. How to set up and use Vendor Product Variations.

All setting names and labels below match the plugin UI.

Let Dokan Lite vendors sell variable products — size, color, and more — from the vendor dashboard. Attributes, generated variations, per-variation price/stock/image, without Dokan Pro.

What this add-on does

Dokan Kits Vendor Product Variations is a premium add-on for Dokan Kits. It lets Dokan Lite vendors:

  • Choose the Variable product type
  • Add attributes such as Size or Color
  • Generate variations (S, M, L, XL, and combinations)
  • Set per-variation price, SKU, stock, and image

It does not require Dokan Pro. If Dokan Pro is already active, this add-on stays inactive so the two variation editors never overlap.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.4.2+
  • PHP 7.4+
  • WooCommerce 7.9+
  • Dokan Lite 3.9.7+
  • Dokan Kits 3.1.5+
  • A valid Freemius license for this add-on

Step 1: Activate your license

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  2. Make sure WooCommerce, Dokan, Dokan Kits, and Dokan Kits Vendor Product Variations are active.
  3. Complete the Freemius prompt if shown.
  4. Click the plugin’s license/account link (such as Activate License, Account, or Upgrade).
  5. Enter your license key or sign in to the Freemius account used for purchase.

After successful activation, you should see Vendor Product Variations with a Premium Feature badge in Dokan Kits settings.

Step 2: Open the feature settings

  1. Go to WP Admin → Dokan Kits.
  2. Open Features.
  3. Click the Product tab (this is not the default Vendor tab).
  4. Find Vendor Product Variations.

You’ll also see this section description:

Allow Dokan Lite vendors to create variable products with attributes and variations from their dashboard.

If Dokan Pro is installed, the description instead reads:

Dokan Pro already includes vendor-side variable products, so this add-on stays inactive to avoid duplicate editors.

Step 3: Configure the settings

Enable vendor variations

  • Turn this on to show the Variable product type and the attributes/variations editor in the vendor dashboard.
  • If this is off, vendors cannot create variable products with this add-on.

Allow global attributes

  • Turn on to let vendors pick WooCommerce global attributes (for example Size stored as pa_size) in addition to custom attributes.
  • Turn off if vendors should only create custom attributes on each product.

Allow variation images

  • Turn on if vendors should upload a unique image for each variation.
  • Turn off if variations should use the parent product image only.

What vendors will see

Product type

On Add New Product and Edit Product, vendors get Product Type with Simple and Variable.

Hint on the add-product screen:

Choose Variable to sell sizes or other options. After you create the product, add attributes and generate variations on the edit screen.

Attribute and Variation panel

On the product edit screen, vendors see a collapsible section:

  • Heading: Attribute and Variation
  • Description: Manage attributes and variations for this variable product.

If the product is still Simple, the heading is Attribute and the hint is:

Switch the product type to Variable to add sizes, colors, and other purchasable options.

Adding attributes

  1. Set Product Type to Variable.
  2. Click Add attribute.
  3. Optionally choose a global attribute from the dropdown, or leave Custom attribute.
  4. Fill in:
    • Name (placeholder: Size)
    • Value(s) (placeholder: S | M | L | XL)
  5. Keep Used for variations checked.
  6. Optionally check Visible on the product page.
  7. Click Save Product.

Value hint in the UI:

Separate values with a pipe (|).

Use Remove on an attribute row to delete it.

Generating and editing variations

After attributes are saved:

  1. Use Dokan’s variation toolbar to create variations from all attributes (or add one variation at a time).
  2. Open a variation row and set:
    • Enabled
    • SKU
    • Stock status (In stock / Out of stock / On backorder)
    • Regular price and optional Sale price
    • Sale start date / Sale end date
    • Manage stock? and Stock quantity
    • Weight and Dimensions (L×W×H)
    • Description
    • Optional Downloadable / Virtual
    • Variation image (if Allow variation images is on)
  3. Click Save Product.

Example: Size hoodie (S / M / L / XL)

  1. Product type: Variable
  2. Attribute name: Size
  3. Attribute values: S | M | L | XL
  4. Used for variations: on
  5. Generate variations
  6. Set prices per size (for example 15 / 18 / 20 / 22)
  7. Save

Shoppers then pick a size on the product page.

Quick setup examples

  • Disable the feature entirely: turn off Enable vendor variations
  • Custom attributes only: turn off Allow global attributes
  • No per-variation photos: turn off Allow variation images
  • Dokan Pro site: leave the add-on installed or deactivate it — it will not run while Pro is active

If you don’t see Vendor Product Variations

  • Confirm the add-on is active in Plugins.
  • Confirm the license is activated successfully.
  • Recheck under Dokan Kits → Features → Product (not the Vendor tab).
  • Confirm Dokan Pro is not active. While Pro is active, this add-on stays inactive on purpose.
  • Confirm Enable vendor variations is on.
  • Confirm WooCommerce, Dokan Lite, and Dokan Kits are all active.
