Dokan Kits Vendor Media Manager: how to activate and use it
This guide explains two things:
- How to activate your license.
- How to set up and use Vendor Media Manager.
All setting names below match the exact labels in the plugin UI.
Step 1: Activate your license
- Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
- Make sure Dokan Kits Vendor Media Manager is active.
- Complete the Freemius prompt if shown.
- Click the plugin’s license/account link (such as Activate License, Account, or Upgrade).
- Enter your license key or sign in to the Freemius account used for purchase.
After successful activation, you should see Vendor Media Manager with a Premium Feature badge in Dokan Kits settings.
Step 2: Open the feature settings
- Go to WP Admin → Dokan Kits.
- Open Features.
- Click the Vendor tab.
- Find Vendor Media Manager.
You’ll also see this section description:
Control how vendors interact with their uploaded media files. Enable the feature and define granular upload and deletion permissions.
Step 3: Configure the settings
Enable Vendor Media Manager
- Turn this on to show the media manager to vendors.
- If this is off, vendors will not see the feature.
Allow Vendors to Upload Files
- Turn on if vendors should upload files from their dashboard.
- Turn off for view-only access.
Allow Vendors to Delete Their Files
- Turn on if vendors should be able to delete their own uploads.
- Turn off if files should stay protected from deletion.
Restrict to Own Uploaded Files
- Recommended: keep this on.
- Vendors will only see files they uploaded.
Allowed File Types
- Optional.
- Add a comma-separated list (for example:
image/jpeg, image/png, application/pdf). - Leave empty to use default WordPress allowed types.
Maximum Upload Size (MB)
- Optional.
- Set a max file size in MB.
- Set
0to use your server default.
What vendors will see
When enabled, vendors get a new menu item in their dashboard:
- Media Manager
On that page they’ll see:
- Title: My Media Files
- Subtitle: Browse, upload, and manage the files you have uploaded to this marketplace.
- Upload panel: Upload a New File (only if uploads are allowed)
- Button: Upload File
- File panel: Your Files
- Action buttons: View / Download and (if allowed) Delete
If no files exist, they’ll see:
- You have not uploaded any files yet.
Quick setup examples
- Disable the feature entirely: turn off Enable Vendor Media Manager
- Vendors can only view files: turn off Allow Vendors to Upload Files
- Vendors can upload but not delete: turn on uploads, turn off Allow Vendors to Delete Their Files
- Best privacy setup: keep Restrict to Own Uploaded Files on
If you don’t see Vendor Media Manager
- Confirm the addon is active in Plugins.
- Confirm the license is activated successfully.
- Recheck under Dokan Kits → Features → Vendor.
